Are you struggling to juggle chores, work, kids and a social life? Modern life is busy in many aspects, so here’s a list with some advice on how to make your life simpler and less stressful. Here are four ways to manage a busy life.

Organizing is the friend of any busy person. Make a to-do list with your tasks for the day, instead of trying to remember it all in your head. There are several ways to make this list work even better for you, for example you should make sure to prioritize the most important tasks, break large tasks up into smaller parts, and try your best to schedule your most busy times around when you’re most active. If you struggle to get things done in the morning, don’t make your schedule for the day depend on doing a lot of stuff right after breakfast. On the other hand, if your productivity wanes in the evening, try to get as much done before then as possible. Crossing things off the list as you go along is also a great way to motivate yourself and stay on track.

  • Hire help

Outsourcing is important. After all, we only have limited time in the day. There are a lot of things you have to do for yourself, but there are some that you can hire someone else to do. A good example of this is hiring cleaners to do the house cleaning for you, if that’s within your means. Daily little tasks like cleaning or mowing the lawn take up a lot of our time, and you’ll be surprised to find how much extra time you have if you don’t have to do it.

  • Make things easy for yourself

There are many things that it’s fine to cut corners on, so start looking for shortcuts and ways of making your life easier. For example, if you have a busy day ahead of you, choose a meal that’s fast and simple to make for dinner. You can even stock up on pre-cooked or pre-chopped ingredients to make it as easy as possible to get food on the table, or meal prep during the weekend. Similarly, you can save a lot of time by planning your tasks efficiently. If you’re going to drive somewhere, take care of another task that you can do on the way instead of leaving the house twice. If you have a phone call to make or answer, do that while you’re doing a task that doesn’t require your full attention, like cleaning or walking the dog.

  • Manage your stress levels

Finally, it’s important to always remember to take care of yourself. Stress will have a negative impact on both your health and your productivity. Ways of managing stress include yoga, meditation or a nice walk, but it can also be as simple as making sure to get some free time every single day to do something you enjoy, like reading a book or taking a bath.
